Artistic works and characters
If you wish to use artistic works that falls within the scope of the economic rights but not one of the exceptions to copyright, in some cases a licence may be offered by a collective licensing body:
- licences for use of much artistic material may be available
from the Design and Artists Collecting Society (DACS)

- Copyright
Promotions
, The Copyrights Group
and HIT Entertainment
licenses use of a number of characters.
Where users or prospective users are unhappy about the terms and conditions offered by collective licensing bodies, they may be able to seek independent adjudication on the matter from the Copyright Tribunal.
There are many other organisations representing right holders that may be able to help you find out how to get a licence.
