Annual Report for 2002

2002 was a quiet year for the Tribunal.

Hearings

Only 1 hearing was held in 2002, to deal with outstanding issues following the main hearing held in 2001 in the Universities UK -v- Copyright Licensing Agency cases. A Decision on costs and a Final Decision and Order were issued, which completed these cases.

Applications

Like in 2001, only 2 new applications were received. One was from the Association of British Concert Promoters, concerning classical music licences; the other concerns a licence to play music on a local radio station.

15 other cases came off the Tribunal's list. 6 were withdrawn by consent of the parties, a further 2 were completed following the issue of a Final Order in a case that had been heard, and 7 were dismissed following the liquidation of the applicant company.

At the end of the year, there were 5 pending cases before the Tribunal.
