Procedure

The Tribunal has its own rules of procedure which are set out in the Copyright Tribunal Rules 1989, SI 1989 No 1129 as amended by the Copyright Tribunal (Amendment) Rules, SI 1991 No 201 and SI 1992 No 467 and further amended by the Copyright and Related Rights Regulations, SI 2003 No. 2498.

In general, proceedings are initiated by serving a notice on the Secretary using the appropriate form shown in Schedule 3 to the Rules. The notice must be accompanied by a statement of case and fee (currently GBP £30, in most cases). Please refer to the Rules for further details concerning procedures. Rules are in the process of revision to take account of new jurisdiction.
