How to use the Electronic Designs Journal

When you first access the Electronic Designs Journal, you will see the most recent journal that has been published. This provides the following options:

  • On-line view of designs that have achieved registration three weeks prior to the publication date
  • Lists of renewed design registrations.
  • Printable versions in PDF format.

Using the Electronic Designs Journal

Indexes

You can search for designs in a number of ways, via the indexes shown. Each index provides the same information but the designs will be sorted in the following ways:

  • Word – alphabetic list of designs by statement of product
  • Image – thumbnail view of design
  • Locarno Class – numerical list of Locarno classes
  • Proprietor – alphabetic list of designs by Proprietor
  • Service Agent – alphabetic list of designs by Service Agent
  • Extended Period – list of designs with extended (renewed) registration periods

To view a design

  • Select the Index you wish to view the list above
  • Choose the design to view to view
  • If you are using the 'Word' index, click on the blue design text to view the design details
  • If you are using any other index, click on the design image to view the design details

The design will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen.

To print a design or Index

  • Right click in the design or index frame (but directly over the image) and use print option.
  • Left click in the right or left frame and use the print icon on the tool bar.

To view the register details

Clicking on the design number in the designs frame will take you to the Register Enquiry screen which gives full details of the design, including any additional views of the design where relevant.
