Using
It is possible to use someone else's intellectual property (IP). You will usually need to get permission, but this may not be necessary if you are using the IP for research, or the rights have expired or are no longer in force.
Copying
You may want to copy someone else's IP.
Licensing
If the IP is protected you may be able to get a licence to use it, from the owner.
