Drawings
Your application may include drawings showing the technical features and construction of your invention to help understand the description and assist in understanding your invention. They may illustrate different views of your invention as seen from different angles, or if appropriate, cross-sectional views. You should include drawings of any important features hidden in use. The drawings help people to understand your invention and should illustrate the range of ways that it can be put into practice.
How to produce your drawings
Your drawings, which must use black, well-defined lines, should be on one side only of separate sheets of plain white A4 paper with margins of at least 2cm at the top and left-hand side, 1.5cm at the right and 1.0cm at the bottom.
You should indicate specific features in the drawings using reference numbers and or letters connected to the features with clear, continuous lines. You should use these references in the description to refer to those features. You should use the same reference number or letter to refer to the same feature in all the figures that show it.
Each drawing sheet may carry one or more drawings. You should label the drawings sequentially as "Figure 1”, "Figure 2” and so on. Number the sheets in order if you have more than one sheet of drawings, for example, with three sheets use "1/3, 2/3, 3/3".
When do we need them?
We need your drawings at the same time as you give us your description.
