Requesting an electronic uncertified copy from a published UK patent or patent application
This web form allows you to request an electronic uncertified copy of documents from a published UK patent or patent application.
Other requests for certified or uncertified copies should be made via our normal Form 23.
Important
You should not use this web form if:
- You wish to make a Form 23 request for uncertified paper copies, certificates, certified copies, copies of register entries, documents from unpublished patents or European patents.
- You wish to pay for your request by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
Online uncertified copy request
The requested document(s) will be delivered to you via email unless the file size exceeds our 10 megabyte (Mb) email limit, in which case they will be posted to you on a CD.
Electronic uncertified office copies - Important Information
| Request and fee | The web form can be used to request uncertified copies from one or more published UK patents or patent applications and for each, the normal fee for an uncertified copy must be paid at the time of the request. |
| Email delivery | The requested document(s) will be emailed to the address you provide. The documents will be provided in a zipped attachment up to 10Mb in size. Before filing a request please ensure that your email client will accept ‘.zip’ file attachments up to this size. |
| Document Format | The requested documents will be provided as individual PDF files within the zipped file. |
| CD Postal Delivery | If the requested documents exceed the 10Mb limit, we will not email them but will instead deliver them on a CD that we will post to the address provided in your request. |
| Your computer and email client capability | We are unable to predict how large any requested file(s) will be, so before using this service please ensure you have the capability to receive, open and read these files, which may be large. |
