How to pay us

You can pay your fees in any of the following ways. Some of our on-line forms will automatically offer you a choice of paying by card or from your deposit account.

Credit or debit card

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro and Solo. Please note that we will not accept card payments for:

  • international patent fees (other than the transmittal fee) payable under the Patent Co-operation Treaty (PCT);
  • international trade mark fees (other than the handling charge) payable under the Madrid Protocol; or
  • topping up a deposit account.

Deposit account

If you regularly do business with us, you can pay by deposit account. This is particularly useful if you have to meet any last-minute payment deadlines.

Cheque

Make your cheque payable to 'UK Intellectual Property Office'.

Payments from overseas must be in sterling (GBP) drawn on a United Kingdom clearing bank.
