Mortgaging
You can use your patent as security for a loan. The mortgagor has a legal right in your patent until you repay the loan.
You or the mortgagor should register the mortgage with us and we will then record it in the register of patents.
Fill in Form 21
To register a mortgage you need to fill in form 21. There is no charge for this.
You can also use this form to tell us that you have repaid the mortgage, so that we can cancel the details from the register.
