Deregulation of patents legislation

Reference: 2003-001

Launch date: 24 February 2003
Closing date: 30 May 2003

The consultation sets out in detail Government proposals for reforming Patents legislation. The regulatory reforms proposed in this paper are aimed at cutting what is now perceived as unnecessary "red tape", which has the effect either of imposing unnecessary burdens on applicants, or of placing unnecessary obstructions in the path of those who have, for one reason or another, failed to meet a formal requirement of the Act.

The consultation is directed at all who are interested, not solely to those to whose attention its existence has been drawn.
