Content online

In January 2008, the European Commission (DG Information Society) launched an initiative looking at key issues relating to creative content online External Link through issuing a communication identifying four key areas for action:

  • the circulation of content online
  • multi-territory licensing for creative content
  • interoperability and transparency of digital rights management systems
  • legal offers and piracy

The Communication also announced the establishment of a new discussion platform to aid further discussion and consideration of these issues.
