Accelerated procedures

We offer ways of speeding up the patent application process in certain circumstances. These accelerated procedures can help you get a granted patent much more quickly.

This document sets out the different accelerated procedures we offer and some of the things you should consider before opting for accelerated processing. In addition, we also offer the following specific acceleration services:

Green Channel

This acceleration service is available to patent applications where the invention has an environmental benefit.

PCT(UK) Fast Track

This acceleration service is available to international (PCT) applications entering the UK national phase if the international application has received a positive International Preliminary Report on Patentability.

Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH)

This initiative allows you to request accelerated examination of your patent application if the claims of your application have been found to be acceptable by certain other intellectual property offices.
