The IPO recognises the value a brand can have to the assets of a company, not only financial, but also reputational; strong brands can support strong businesses: in turn contributing to a strong economy for the UK.
While administration of the IP registration framework is perhaps the most obvious government activity to aid brand owners, there are other government activities and policies that support the interests of brand owners.
In November 2011, we hosted a second Ministerial conference, 'Branding in a Modern Economy 2' which brought together Government, NGOs and business to build on work started at a Ministerial conference held in 2009.
