Knowledge transfer, or knowledge exchange as it is becoming known, is the process by which the research base of Higher Education Institutions and Public Sector Research Establishments interact with business to enable knowledge and expertise to be utilised. Intellectual property (IP) is a key part of the knowledge transfer environment.
