Use our online application form (e-TM3)

When you apply online you have a choice of two filing options:

  • Standard examination service
  • Right Start examination service

Under the standard examination service your application will benefit from a discount of £30 of the total filing fee.

The Right Start service does not have the benefit of the £30 discount but is a split fee option. At the time of application you only pay 50% of the total filing fee. You will then receive our examination report and will only pay the balance of fees payable if you decide to continue with your application.

You can pay online using most major credit/debit cards or a pre-registered deposit account.

You will receive your examination report by e-mail.

Apply using the paper form

If you download our paper application form (TM3) PDF document(57Kb) you can:

  • Pay using most major credit/debit cards, a pre registered deposit account, cheque, cash or postal order.
  • Post us your form.
  • Use our Standard examination service.
  • Receive your examination report by post.

Application fee and altering your mark

  • Please note that we cannot refund your application fee for any reason and you cannot alter your trade mark after you have sent us your form.

Publishing of name and address details

  • The name and address of the owner of the trade mark and any representative that is provided, will appear permanently on our website shortly after we receive your application form.
  • If we accept your application, it will be published in our Trade Mark Journal. Here the name and address of the owner and representative is searchable on the internet using standard search engines. If you want to, you can provide a different address, for example, a solicitor's address or PO Box number.
