Cancelling a trade mark

You can surrender, or give up all or some of your rights in a trade mark, for example some of the goods or services registered.

You must tell all the people who have a legal interest in your mark that you are going to give up those rights 3 months before you apply to surrender.

Fill in form TM22

To surrender all your rights in a mark, fill in form TM22 PDF document(31Kb) and send us

  • a list of everyone who has a legal interest in your mark

There is no charge for this.

Once you have surrendered your mark, we cannot restore it to the register.

To surrender some of the goods or services for which a mark is registered, fill in form TM23 PDF document(31Kb) and send us

  • a list of everyone who has a legal interest in your mark
