If there are designs on our register that look the same as (or similar to) yours, your design could be challenged after registration. This could result in your design registration being invalidated (removed from the register) and you may have to pay costs. You can check if someone else has got there first:

Our database of registered designs is available online, free of charge, for you to view.

Here you should be able to get a rough idea of whether your design is already registered.

This service only allows you to see those designs which have been registered in the UK and should not be used to determine whether your design is completely new as this may be affected by other registered and unregistered designs in the other European countries.
