Cancelling your registered design

You can cancel your design registration at any time. This action is usually taken

  • to avoid legal action such as infringement proceedings; or
  • because of an application to remove the registered design by a third party

You will need to make sure you are aware of any implications of cancelling your design, for example if you have licensed the design to someone based on your registration.

To cancel your own registration, fill in form DF19C PDF document(73Kb). There is no charge for this.
