OHIM introduces new on-line mediation service

OHIM's new mediation service began on 24 October 2011

This is an exciting new department for OHIM who have put together a team of specially-trained mediators, drawn from the Office's staff. Full details of the OHIM mediation services External Link are available on their website.

The mediation section includes video and text as well as the names of all the available mediators at OHIM, together with their CVs. This will enable parties seeking mediation to choose whoever is best suited for their case in terms of background, experience and language skills. All of OHIM's mediators have undergone training and are Members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIarb).

The mediation service will provide an alternative to appeals before the OHIM Boards of Appeal and has been introduced as a result of discussions with users.
