UK applications published

In this tab you can search and view details of UK applications published under Section 16(1). This list is a concordance between application numbers and publication numbers of applications published. The publication number is the seven figure number given to an application when it is published and by which it will be recorded on the Register of Patents.

Each entry in the returned data provides the following information: the publication number; the application number; the date on which the application was filed at the Office; the name(s) of the applicant(s); the country of incorporation; the names of the inventors; the abstract title; any priority details; and the International Patent Classification assigned to the application.

Where an application is requesting an early date under Section 8, 12, 15(9), or 37 of the Act, then the application number and the date of filing of the earlier application are. Where an application is derived from an application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty or is converted from a European Patent application, then the application number, the date of filing, the publication number and the date of publication of the PCT or EP application are included.

The order in which the returned data is listed depends upon the sort option chosen. The default sort is by Publication date, where the entries are arranged first in ascending publication date, then within publication date in ascending publication number order.

To choose a different sort option, click on the arrow along side Sort By and select a sort option.

When the sort by Publication Number option is chosen, the entries are arranged in ascending publication number order.

When the sort by Application Number option is chosen, the entries are arranged in ascending application number order.

When the sort by Applicant option is chosen, the entries are arranged in alphabetical order according to the applicant’s name.

When the sort by Inventors Name is chosen, the entries are arranged in alphabetical order according to the inventor’s name.

When the sort by IPC option is chosen, the entries are arranged in ascending order of their International Patent Classification.

By clicking on an application number in the returned entries you can link to the patents register. By clicking on a publication number you can link to the Patents Enquiry Service where you can view the published document.
