Extensions of time

If you need more time to take certain actions, we will consider applications for extending a deadline for you to do so.

After the examination of your mark

If you need more time than given to answer objections raised in your examination report, you can apply for an extension of time.

After a hearing on the objections raised

If you need more time to deal with the issues or act on suggestions made by the hearing officer, you can apply for an extension of time.

During opposition proceedings

You can apply for an extension of time - but in this circumstance you will need to complete a Form TM9 (17Kb) and send it to us with the GBP 100 fee.

If you have missed a deadline

We will allow a retrospective extension of time if you contact us within two months of missing a deadline.

You will need to send us a Form TM9 (17Kb) with the GBP 100.00 fee.
