Data capture
When we receive your application, we will make sure it has all the information we need, such as a clear representation of the mark you wish to apply for, a list of the goods and/or services on which you are using the mark, contact details and a signature. If there are any problems with your form, we will contact you. Please note that we cannot refund your application fee for any reason and you cannot alter your mark once you have filed your application.
We capture your application details onto our database. Once your data has been captured, your application details, including your name and address, are open to the public. If you do not want your home address published, you can provide us with a different address or a PO Box number. You will receive your filing receipt and application number within 6 working days:
- by email for e-filed applications
- by post for paper filed applications
As soon as you have an application number you can follow the progress of your application on this website.
The application will then proceed to step 2, the examination.
