How much is it?
Application costs
It costs:
- GBP £200 to apply to register a UK trade Mark; this includes one class of goods or services
- GBP £50 for every other class you apply for.
- An additional £300 premium if you chose a fast track examination (only available online) For example, a fast track application with 2 classes = GBP £550
The application or premium fee (fast track only) cannot be refunded for any reason and you cannot alter your mark after you apply.

Further costs
At the examination stage, we check the register for Other peoples TMs that may be conflicting. If there are any, we will tell you about them and you must decide whether or not to proceed with your application.
If you decide to go for it, we write to the owners of these earlier marks to tell them about your application and publish it in our trade marks journal where you could be opposed and have to pay further costs.

Renewal fees
After 10 years, you must renew your mark to keep it in force and then continue to renew it every 10 years after that.
