IP awareness seminars
What are they?
The Intellectual Property Office runs a programme of free Intellectual Property (IP) awareness seminars across the UK. Our IP seminars are aimed at businesses who want to find out more about the benefits of using IP in their business. It doesn’t matter if you are an artist, an inventor, a sole trader or a small business, it will still be relevant to you.
What will it cover?
The Ideas & Inventions and Brands seminars run from 09:00 to around 13:30. In the Ideas & Inventions seminar we will focus on patents and design, although we’ll also cover trade marks and copyright. In the Brands event we’ll focus on trade marks and copyright, and will also cover patents and designs. They will also feature a local business entrepreneur who’ll talk about their experience of using IP and how it helped their business grow.
A key part of the day is the chance for delegates to have a one to one discussion with either a patent attorney at Ideas & Inventions or a trade mark attorney at the Brands event. This gives attendees an opportunity to raise any IP issues they might have that relate to their own particular circumstances. Like the seminars, there’s no charge for a one to one with an attorney.
Where are they held?
Our seminars are held at a number of regional locations throughout the year. To find out when and where they are taking place take a look at our events calendar. You can then register for any of the events on-line or by phone.
What to do next
Once you’ve booked your place at a seminar, why not use our on-line IP diagnostic tool. The IP Healthcheck tool offers advice on all aspects of IP and is quick and easy to use. Take a look at our IP Healthcheck page to get started.
