Summary

The invention related to a single-purpose violet coloured signalling light for a road vehicle to indicate an intention to pass or overtake another vehicle, thus enabling road users to distinguish an overtaking event from a turning event. The hearing officer concluded that the invention lacked an inventive step and was also excluded from patentability as relating to the presentation of information as such. He therefore refused the application.
