Summary
The application relates to a urinal cap suitable for use with a urinal cleaning block, where the cap is capable of being retrofitted to a urinal waste pipe or outlet and comprises a cap body with a plurality of stems extending downwards from it.
The applicant sought to amend the patent to include a claim to waterless urinal operation. The Hearing Officer considered the application as filed and as amended and found that the proposed amendments added subject matter and therefore contravened section 76. The Hearing Officer found that the application lacked novelty over prior disclosure of urinal caps for holding urinal cleaning blocks and therefore did not need to consider the inventive step objection. The period for putting the application in order has expired. The Hearing Officer therefore refused the application.
