Summary

The hearing officer found that the invention defined in this divisional application was generally the same as that in the parent application which had previously been refused as a method for doing business and a program for a computer. The applicant argued that the High Court judgment in Emotional Perception handed down after refusal of the parent application required a different conclusion to be drawn on the divisional. The hearing officer found that the invention did not relate to an artificial neural network as in Emotional Perception, so reached the same conclusion as the hearing officer on the parent. The application was refused.
