Summary

The invention involved docking an aircraft to an airport terminal by extending two passenger loading bridges in advance of the docking of the aircraft, and then making minor adjustments to the bridges so that they are fully aligned with and connected to their respective aircraft doors once the aircraft had docked. The hearing officer found that the contribution related to an administrative activity and lay solely within the excluded field of a method of doing business as such. He therefore refused the application.
