Summary

The application relates to training and use of a neural network using medical imaging data and clinical data, to determine an estimated amount of treatment for a patient such as an estimate of the number of days they will need to use an intensive care unit (ICU) bed when they are suspected to have COVID-19.

The Hearing Officer applied the Aerotel/Macrossan four step test and considered the AT&T/CVON signposts. He found the contribution to be excluded as a computer program and method of doing business as such, and therefore refused the application under Section 18(3).
