Summary

The application concerns a way of modifying a virtual reality (“VR”) environment from within the VR environment. It does this by the provision of an interactive script building diagram within the VR environment which allows a user, who has no knowledge of coding, to build and configure the behaviour of an object in the VR environment.

The Hearing Officer applied the reasoning in Aerotel/Macrossan and considered two of the AT&T/Cvon signposts. He found that the contribution lay entirely in matter excluded as a program for a computer as such. Having decided this, the HO declined to rule on the presentation of information exclusion. The application was refused under section 18(3).
