Summary

The invention relates to a propulsion system comprising a capacitor comprising at least two conductors, subjected to asymmetric voltage pulses or electric fields with an asymmetric temporal derivative to generate thrust. This can be applied to any kind of vehicle, including land, air, submarine or space vehicles.

The Hearing Officer considered the claim in light of the description as a whole and the evidence provided by the Applicant and found that there was not sufficient information to allow the skilled addressee to make a practical propulsion system. Whilst the evidence provided demonstrated that the skilled addressee would be able to understand how to generate pulses with an asymmetric temporal derivative, the Hearing Officer considered that there was not sufficient information in the description to enable the skilled addressee to make or obtain a working propulsion system suitable for practical application. Having determined the application was not disclosed in a clear and complete enough manner for the skilled addressee to work the invention, the Hearing Officer declined to consider the issue of industrial applicability. The application was refused.
