Summary

The invention related to a system and method for the intelligent load of data. The data relates to a communication thread that is transferred to a client application database of a client application from a target server. The invention defines a process that uses either an incremental update or a most-recent update depending on whether certain criteria are satisfied. Both types of updates are defined as data slices consisting of one or more pages of content. The invention was said to reduce the time delay between starting the application and it being ready to use, and also reduce bandwidth requirements, energy usage and CPU cycles.

The Hearing Officer applied the Aerotel approach, and in light of case law including the AT&T signposts, decided that the invention lacked the required technical contribution, and the invention related to a program for a computer, as such. The application was refused.
