Summary

The application concerns the introduction of atoms or molecules into an enclosed low-pressure environment. The invention appears to lie in the preparation of what is referred to as an “emission stabilised matrix” in this enclosed low-pressure environment.

The applicant, Mr Parfitt, represented himself.

In a decision based on the papers, the Hearing Officer (HO) found that the claimed invention included a number of features that the skilled person would be unable to construe. The HO found that the application did not disclose the invention in a manner which is clear enough and complete enough for the invention to be performed by a person skilled in the art as required under section 14(3) of the Act.

The application was refused under section 18(3) of the Act.
