Summary
1 The applications form two families of divisionals, with the two parents having the same filing date and the same applicant. As there is a significant degree of overlap in the subject matter of all six the hearing Officer dealt with them together. All six applications concern compensating for interference arising from the simultaneous use of two different radio transceivers in the same device. For example, one of the transceivers may be cellular, and the other may be Wi-Fi (RTM).
The Hearing Officer considered the novelty and obviousness of the independent claims of each application in turn. In the latter consideration, he applied the Windsurfing/Pozzoli test. The hearing officer decided that at least one independent claim in each application lacked novelty and/or an inventive step. However, as he identified at least one allowable claim in each application he remitted them all to the examiner to give the applicant the opportunity to amend.
